Luohu District: Gateway from Hong Kong

Luohu is where most Hong Kong day-trippers enter Shenzhen. It's the city's oldest urban district — home to the 300-year-old Dongmen shopping street, the 442-meter KK100 tower, and Luohu Commercial City directly attached to the border crossing. Over 4.5 million travelers cross through Luohu Port every month.

Getting to Luohu

From Hong Kong (walking): Take the MTR East Rail Line to Lo Wu station. Cross the bridge on foot through immigration (15–30 min). You emerge directly into Luohu Commercial City and Luohu Metro Station.

From Hong Kong (HSR): West Kowloon → Futian Station (14 min). Then Metro Line 1 eastbound to Luohu (15 min). Faster if heading to Nanshan, but Luohu Port is better for walk-across day trips.

From Nanshan (tech area): Metro Line 1 from Houhai to Luohu (30 min direct, no transfer).

Best time to visit: Weekday mornings for shortest border queues. Avoid Sunday evenings (return rush) and Chinese public holidays.
