Bao'an District: DJI's Home Base

Bao'an is where you land (Shenzhen Airport) and where DJI built its global headquarters — the striking twin-tower DJI Sky City complex. As of March 2026, Pony.ai robotaxis now cover Bao'an, meaning you can ride an autonomous taxi directly from the airport area to Nanshan's tech attractions. The Qianhai free trade zone adds futuristic architecture and waterfront dining.

Getting to Bao'an

From the airport: Metro Line 11 connects Bao'an Airport directly to Houhai/Nanshan (35 min) and Futian (45 min). Or take a Pony.ai robotaxi to Nanshan (25 min, ¥35–50) — now available since March 2026.

From Nanshan: DJI Sky City is a 10-minute taxi/robotaxi ride from Houhai. Metro Line 1 westbound to Taoyuan Station, then 5-minute walk.

From Hong Kong: Shenzhen Bay Port (深圳湾口岸) is in western Bao'an/Nanshan. Buses from Hong Kong arrive here directly. Alternatively, airport ferry from Hong Kong Skypier connects to Shenzhen Airport in 30 minutes.

Tip: If arriving at Shenzhen Airport and heading to tech attractions, skip the metro and try the robotaxi — it's your first taste of Shenzhen's autonomous tech before the tour even starts.
